Version Française is proud to offer the largest array of French films on video to be found in North America. From classics of French Cinéma to popular American films dubbed into French, our collection contains more than 3500 titles! Our on-line catalog lists over 2,000 French films. We also carry many titles for children (Tintin, Babar, Lucky Luke, etc.) and most major American films (dubbed into French), but we do not rent these titles by correspondence. We have spent many years tracking down hard to find, out of print or unusual titles. If you do not find what you are looking for, please give us a call.

All films are in the NTSC VHS format, compatible with all VCRs sold in the US and Canada. Most of our films do not have English subtitles. Those that do will have an "ST" following the title.

Membership

Please complete a membership application form. Note: This is not an on-line form. It must be printed out, completed and signed, and then mailed or faxed to us. Please include your home (billing) address on the form. If you would like to include an additional address for shipping, you are welcome to do so, but be sure to clearly indicate which address is for billing and which is for shipping. We will not process orders without sufficient address information.

In-Store Rentals

We do have a walk-in boutique in Bethesda, Maryland - ten minutes north of Washington. We invite you to visit if you are in the area! As stated above, we require a $20.00 annual membership fee. For in-store rentals, each film is $3.50. New releases can be kept out for three (3) days and all other titles can be kept for five (5) days.

Mail Rentals

Please note that you must be a member of our video club to rent titles, and we only rent to customers in the continental United States. Annual dues are $20.00.

A mail rental is $10.00 for each film rented. Shipping is $5.00 for the first film and $1.25 for each additional film. Rentals by mail are for a period of one week, which consists of two to three days shipping, two or three days to watch the film(s), and two to three days return shipment. Return shipment is the responsibility of the renter.

Shipping

We ship UPS ground to all areas except the West Coast, in which case we may choose to ship by Priority Mail. Customers who wish to have their films shipped 2nd Day Air or Next Day Air may do so at an additional cost. Please call for further details. We try to be understanding with our return policy and since most delivery systems do not operate Sundays, most mail rentals will actually last closer to eight or nine days, and we do not charge late fees in these circumstances. As mentioned, the cost for a lost or damaged film is $50.00, so we recommend using UPS for return shipment so that the merchandise is guaranteed. In terms of transit time, the best days to rent are Monday-Wednesday.

Catalog

We have updated our website and now have improved catalogs, better categories, full descriptions in English and French (when available) and complete actor listings. Visit our new site and view our enormous selection !
