Sinclair |
The first song, "Invincible", begins with a dramatic string overture, then melts into an introspective piano ballad. Next is "L'épreuve du temps", a smooth disco-pop ode to longevity: "Et j'essais de passer l'épreuve du temps/ Jour après jour/ À cent pour cent." Changing styles again, that song then segues into the urgent funk jam "Le fou". After the easy-going "Soleil de Marseille", Sinclair offers "Hurrycane", blending violins, percussion (by occasional Francis Cabrel drummer Manu Katché), and even jazz backup vocals into a fascinating mix of textures. The most irresistable track is by far the super-funky "Si c'est bon comme ça" ("Si c'est bonne comme ça/ Il ne faut pas que ça change"), which will have you up and dancing. It is followed by a beautiful ballad to let you catch your breath. If his first two albums sounded a lot like the music of other artists, with La Bonne Attitude Sinclair solidified a great sound all his own. |
