The opening track, "Ce que je sais", is a power ballad, which might be a little unexpected for fans of his rock & roll material. Still, it is a beautiful song, giving Hallyday's voice a chance to soar while he makes his mission statement for this album: "Ce que je sais, c'est que je suis là." Soyez le bienvenue, Johnny! "Chacun cherche son cur" follows,
another ballad in which Johnny shows his impressive vocal abilities. By the fourth track,
"Allumer le feu", Johnny is back in familiar territory - rock & roll, with
loud guitars and gritty vocals. "Les moulins à vent" borrows from the
electronic-rock sound popularized by U2 on their last few albums. There is even a duet
between Obispo and Hallyday, "C'est la vie qui veut ça", and their voices blend
surprisingly well. There is really something here for everyone. |
