PART ONE: THE INNER YOU
In Part One of the interpretations you will read two sections concerned with your individual traits. The first section describes your ego (sun), emotional make-up (moon), learning and intellectual orientation (Mercury), relationships and sociability (Venus), and the expression and focus of your physical energy (Mars). The second section describes how well you deal internally with the external situations that you experience in life. Your capacity for happiness (Jupiter), ability to tolerate restrictions and frustrations (Saturn), how you are associated with or relate to new or innovative ideas and methods, and radical ideas and events that upset the status quo (Uranus), how you are associated with or affected by public ideals, morality, and spirituality (Neptune), and how you are associated with or affected by public policies toward crime, toward the power of government and industry, and toward exploration, development, conservation and distribution of natural resources (Pluto). SUN The sun rules will power and ego. It is the core of your potential and uniqueness as an individual; who you are and what you are about. It represents the main direction and focus you want your life to take, and your determination to accomplish what you set out to do. It is your personal honesty and integrity, and the ability to command respect and authority, to impress and influence others. SUN in VIRGO As the sixth sign of the zodiac, Virgo represents the sixth stage in the evolution of man and his place in the universe. In Leo the need is to discover and develop man's individuality and creative potential. In Virgo the need is to find ways to put man's individual talents to the best possible use. This is why Virgo is known as the sign of service. For many Virgos, the need to make things better is satisfied by pursuing careers in health-related fields or in other areas such as teaching, labor relations, environmental protection, social work, or religious counseling. Though most of them do have altruistic motives in helping others, it must also be said that Virgos have a tendency to act the martyr when their service or counseling is ignored, and it is not unheard of for them to use guilt as a weapon when they want to elicit the attention and cooperation of others. Virgos have to learn that helping others to improve is one thing, but pushing them toward goals of perfection they cannot hope to accomplish is destructive as well as impossible. Virgos adapt to change. This trait is a strength because it is a survival mechanism, and a weakness because it makes them vulnerable to the demands and influence of other people. Instinctively responsive to the needs of others, they usually adapt to different people and changing circumstances by finding ways to make themselves useful. The Virgin is the astrological symbol of Virgo and, like the true virgin, most Virgos are shy. Like a virgin waiting to give herself to the perfect lover, Virgos are also idealistic. Unfortunately when they allow idealism to get out of hand, nothing is accomplished. The virgin becomes a bitter spinster and talents die on the vine. Though intensely personal situations are inhibiting, there are other situations when Virgos can be very dynamic. When the spotlight is not directly on them but on a product or a service they offer, they are excellent salespersons. Virgos react to what they experience by assessing its practical worth. Before they take physical action, before they sort out their emotional involvement, and before they reason it out intellectually, they must ascertain what tangible advantages are to be gained from the experience. If the advantages they find are not necessarily useful to them, they are willing to give them to those who can benefit. Virgos are effective negotiators. They patiently endure endless details and responsibilities if convinced it accomplishes an end they think justifies their efforts. Mercury, planet of the intellect, rules Virgo, giving Virgos an analytical approach to life. That communication is important to Virgos is aptly demonstrated by the fact that so many of them are very talkative. They love books, magazines, and writing. With a critical eye for organization and detail and their constant search for perfection, Virgos have an irresistible urge to improve everything and everyone, whether they need it or not. Virgos are not above using their inability to achieve perfection as an excuse for their own idleness and unproductiveness. Out of character with their true nature, these Virgos are sloppy, disorganized, and irresponsible. What is worse, their own bad habits do not in the least inhibit them from criticizing others for the same behavior. Their analytical ability makes them excellent critics of the talent and performance of those more skilled than themselves. Virgos need to think that what they do is of a practical and helpful nature. The worthiness of their self-sacrificing efforts is spoiled at times however, when they exact tangible proof of gratitude from those who benefited from their actions. Likely to be health conscious, many Virgos make an effort to stay physically fit. If they are convinced that results can be achieved, they don't mind tedious exercise routines. They enjoy tennis, racquetball, swimming, sailing, fishing, and biking. As athletes, Virgos are not overly competitive. Most of them do however, attempt to perfect whatever skills they do have in a particular sport. They are likely to be talented craftsman, seamstresses, or designers, and may have particular interest in such things as cartography, travel, and philately. Virgo colors are blue, yellow, gray, tan, navy, and lilac. Vulnerable parts of the body are the sinuses, respiratory system, and bowels. Colds, flu, allergies, and constipation are common Virgo complaints. The sapphire, which is a variety of the mineral corundum, is Virgo's birthstone. This gem was considered by ancient societies as a love charm. Though they come in a variety of colors and can even be transparent, the most valuable sapphires are blue. Blue is also the principal color associated with Virgo. Flowers and plants for Virgo include the aster, chrysanthemum, ivy, and fern. MOON The moon rules desire as opposed to ego, need as opposed to expediency or reason. It describes how you feel about yourself, how you handle relationships, and how you emotionally respond to situations and experiences. It describes the flow of your daily functions; physical, emotional, and mental. The moon represents your residence and domestic environment. It rules babies and young children, your mother and other important females in your life. MOON in VIRGO Except in the pursuit of pleasure (to which many of them can be quite dedicated) those born with the moon in an Earth sign are not emotionally spontaneous. They don't nonchalantly accept the responsibility of long-term relationships, or analyze emotional commitments merely as a mental exercise. They may hesitate to move at all unless they feel they are on solid ground, or there is some personal advantage to be gained by their emotional involvement. As lunar Earth sign personalities, those with moon in Virgo are guarded about their feelings. They consciously or subconsciously put up invisible barriers. However, in many cases they secretly hope others will view these barriers as a challenge in getting to know them. Their passion can sometimes be confused with compassion. An over-critical or too analytical approach to emotional situations makes it difficult for them, as well as others involved, to freely or spontaneously express feelings. Serious-minded, with common sense about most things, they can be surprisingly unrealistic at times. Their creativity always has some practical element. As writers or artists, for example, they usually stick to subjects or situations they know best. Virgo moon personalities are emotionally adaptable. They instinctively seem to know what it takes to make others feel better. They make many friends because of their sympathetic nature, but it also means they are vulnerable to being exploited. Though they are not all scholars, they are likely to be fond of books and writing. Intellectual curiosity gives them a penchant for gathering information that can develop into serious research endeavors, or turn out to be just a fondness for gossip. At times they can be overly fastidious, usually with regard to eating habits. Concern with health makes many of them outstanding health care professionals. Their own preoccupation with health can become exaggerated to the point of hypochondria, or they can be guilty of using maladies to attract sympathy. They are mentally and emotionally stimulated by travel, communication, and information. Women with Virgo moon may encounter sorrow through marriage. They can be dreadful nags themselves or become the victims of a nagging spouse. Men with Virgo moon tend to idealize their wives but may not be very passionate toward them. Their quiet emotional nature tends toward domesticity, though they may also have a desire for intrigue and flamboyancy. MERCURY Mercury indicates mental outlook, intellectual endeavors, the way you think and communicate. It represents ideas, methods, and information. It rules your hands and thus your manual dexterity and mechanical skills. Mercury also describes transportation; that is, how you get where you're going physically and mentally. Do you speed with all possible haste or amble along taking a few detours here and there? MERCURY in VIRGO Individuals with Mercury in Virgo have sharp analytical abilities. As a rule, they learn quickly and most of them enjoy their education. They have organizational ability, but other factors in their natal charts must support a willingness to implement this skill. They are prone to changing their minds, often as a result of being unduly influenced by the persuasive power of others. They need to develop confidence in themselves. Sometimes they can be patient and accommodating in teaching or sharing information and ideas. At other times, they are too impatient and overly critical. Their need for perfection is always in conflict with the less-than-perfect world. In the matter of learning and transportation, they move at a variable but purposeful pace. Curiosity leads them down many paths, mentally as well as physically. VENUS Venus rules your social attitudes and behavior, and your aesthetic tastes and inclinations. It is female relationships and social interactions at every level. Venus indicates your values. It describes romance, marriage and other partnerships, capacity for humor, and the pursuit of pleasure. VENUS in SCORPIO Social attitudes and behavior of individuals with natal Venus in Scorpio are strongly influenced by their emotional needs. They are not usually shy and, in fact, many of them are quite gregarious. How much attention they seek for themselves is determined by other factors. They have a strong, passionate nature that they must control if they wish to avoid being possessive, obsessive, or jealous. Even those who seem outwardly easy-going will consciously or subconsciously seek to control relationships. They are not ones to mince words or engage in idle flattery. Many of their interactions with others, even fleeting or superficial contacts, are apt to be tinged with a certain intensity. Social instincts can be remarkably keen, and their actions in this regard are direct and purposeful though not always obvious or open. MARS Mars rules physical energy and efforts. It describes the strength and direction of the physical force that drives your ego, fires your emotions, and encourages your mental endeavors and communicative skills. It describes male relationships and associations, risk-taking inclinations, and the physical challenges you are likely to encounter. MARS in VIRGO Individuals with Mars in Virgo possess a number of different kinds of physical and mental skills that allow them access to a wide range of activities. Writing, teaching, health care, interior design, or fashion design are just a few areas in which these individuals may direct their time and attention. They can be very self-disciplined, organized individuals who have no trouble dividing their energy among several projects at the same time. If other factors in their individual natal chart interfere, their sense of detail is lost in disorganization and sloppiness. Efforts to perfect their skills and abilities to impossible levels can be discouraged when they are confronted with the imperfection of reality. They need to develop tolerance for such imperfect situations or they can lapse into an idle and unproductive existence. JUPITER Jupiter rules your potential for growth and expansion on many levels; physical, intellectual, spiritual, cultural, and the accumulation of material assets, power, and status. It describes your optimism and aspirations. It represents your father and his position in society. JUPITER in AQUARIUS Individuals with natal Jupiter in Aquarius can operate efficiently within traditional ideas and institutions, while at the same time be receptive to ideas and activities which seem fantastic or bizarre to other people. Indeed, they are apt to experience their greatest personal progress and growth by successfully dealing with situations that involve rebelling against tradition or the established order. These individuals are likely to possess extremely broad-minded social attitudes. They can be effective catalysts within various organizations and groups. SATURN Saturn rules responsibilities, restrictions and limitations you are apt to encounter, and the lessons you must learn in life. It does not deny or diminish imagination, inspiration, spirituality, and good fortune but it does demand that these things be given structure and meaning. SATURN in ARIES Individuals with natal Saturn in Aries are invariably faced with the consequences of their actions. They do not usually have the luxury of leaving their actions and reactions up to pure instinct. They are frustrated when they do not succeed because they acted spontaneously. Frustration increases on other occasions when they deliberately move at a slower pace and still fail, realizing too late that they should have acted sooner. Success becomes a matter of learning to control their physical, mental, and emotional reactions, an ability that can only be developed through maturity and experience. URANUS Uranus rules personal as well as societal freedom. It indicates originality of thought and expression. In society it rules radical ideas and people as well as revolutionary events that upset established structures. Uranus takes approximately seven years to transit one sign, taking about 84 years to complete all twelve signs. Since groups of people with Uranus in the same sign are separated by 84 years, the influence of this planet in a sign is generational. The personal implications of Uranus in your life are described by its house position and the aspects it makes with other planets in your natal chart. It describes areas of unpredictability, and where you or your life style may be different than those around you. It relates to the unusual or unique. Friends and associations to which you belong are also indicated, as is your potential involvement with science and technology, computers, and the media. URANUS in TAURUS The generation of individuals born with natal Uranus in Taurus do not care to make changes for the sake of making changes, nor do they accept originality just because it is different. For them, changes and innovations must have structure and purpose. Freedom is encouraged if responsibilities are also accepted. The importance of theories are recognized but only to the extent that their practical application is considered feasible. NEPTUNE Neptune rules those who are oppressed or abandoned; the misfits of society. On a higher level it rules visionaries, and those who are glamorous and charismatic. It represents spirituality, mysticism, and ideals. Neptune is in one sign for approximately thirteen years, taking about 164 years to complete its cycle through all twelve signs. Since 164 years separate people born during its transit of one sign and those born when it returns, Neptune's significance in any sign is described as generational or historical. On a personal level, Neptune's house position and the aspects it makes with other planets in your natal chart will describe spirituality, abstract thinking, illusion, disillusionment, and other areas of your life where things aren't always what they seem. It rules derangement, guilt, persecution, and describes the potential for experiences related to confinement, abandonment, and addiction or physical intolerance to drugs. NEPTUNE in VIRGO Among other things Virgo rules the search for ideals, work and the labor force. During the most recent period of Neptune in Virgo in 1928-1943 idealism went tragically awry in Hitler's plan to eradicate all those he considered inferior. The National Labor Relations Board was established to reassert the right to collective bargaining. PLUTO Pluto takes approximately 248 years to make one cycle through all twelve signs. The period Pluto spends in each sign can vary from twelve years to thirty two years due to the eccentricity of its orbit. Like atomic energy (a force ruled by Pluto), the presence and direction of Pluto's energy are never obvious until it is used. Pluto's influence in any sign is interpreted as generational or historical. In your personal life, Pluto's significance is interpreted from its house position and the aspects it makes to other natal planets in your horoscope. Pluto rules intense energy, and describes the areas in which you consciously or subconsciously seek to exercise power or control. Pluto is also linked to your karmic responsibility, and in this respect, it describes the areas where you must gain the deepest level of understanding. PLUTO in LEO Pluto's last period in Leo was 1938-1957. Leo rules the king or representative government. During Pluto's transit of Leo in the late 1600's and early 1700's, John Locke, philosopher of the English Revolution and American Revolution, wrote his famous essays stating that governments existed by virtue of voluntary agreements and their function was to protect the rights of individuals. PART TWO: THE OUTER YOU In Part Two you will read about the twelve houses of the horoscope. The houses represent areas of life in which you operate on a daily basis. You will read descriptions of how you handle the circumstances you encounter in each of these areas, according to your nature, personality and other traits as they are outlined in Part One. HOUSE 1 The first house and the sign that rules the first house, which is also known as the Ascendant or Rising sign, describes your outer personality and physical attributes. To some extent it also describes your health and the type of illnesses you may experience. PISCES ASCENDANT A Pisces Ascendant indicates individuals with flexible personalities, that is, they can easily hide their own traits and take on the characteristics of others. In spite of pleasant dispositions and willingness to adapt to changing circumstance and the demands of other people, they can be surprisingly strong and determined, but their strength of character is also determined by other important factors in their backgrounds. They have highly emotional natures and are apt to have quiet, shy personalities. Their compassion can be overwhelming, as is their propensity to become victims of their own vulnerability. Almost before they realize it, or in some cases because they actually seek it, they become their own worst enemy. They are not above using subterfuge and game-playing rather than direct confrontation to get what they want. If however, they develop self-confidence, these less-than-honest emotional ploys are not apt to surface in their personalities or behavior patterns. Pisces is ruled by Neptune, planet of illusion and imagination, an indication that they are apt to have little understanding of how they appear to others. The influence of Neptune can also add an element of glamor or mystery to their appearances. They can for example, either photograph extremely well or their likeness on film may be extremely poor. In either case, photographs fail to capture their true appearance. Pisces is also ruled by this sign's ancient ruler Jupiter, planet of inspiration and drama. Neptune and Jupiter blend together producing the likelihood of those who are highly imaginative and view life the way they want it to be, rather than the way it really is. They are prone to feelings of abandonment and to feeling sorry for themselves, and are easily disillusioned. Extremely sensitive individuals, they are apt to have artistic talent as well as psychic abilities. They may have a spiritual or philosophical bent, and great appreciation for education, even if their own has been limited. They love traveling, dancing, and sports. Though it is by no means universal with Pisces Rising, these individuals are apt to be less-than-average in physical stature with a tendency to retain fluids. Their addictive natures make them extremely vulnerable to becoming victims of habit-forming substances. Sensitivity to medicine and anesthesia, and problems with their feet are physical complaints they are most apt to experience. SATURN in 1st HOUSE For those with Saturn in the first house, the biggest lessons in life involve self image. It doesn't matter what circumstances life presents the biggest challenge for these individuals is always themselves. Saturn indicates difficult circumstances surrounding birth and the early years of life. Whatever their childhood was like, these individuals are consciously or subconsciously disappointed by it and with themselves as well. Such inner negativity may result in their denying themselves any personal success or happiness, or they may completely abandon themselves to pleasure and other indulgences as a form of self-destruction. They feel they are unworthy, unattractive and undesirable, no matter what the mirror reflects or what others may tell them. At every turn they are confronted by their own fears and insecurities. How well they learn to deal with such personal conflict becomes a mark of their strength and success as an adult. Saturn in the first house may indicate inner turmoil but by no means does it indicate a somber or colorless personality. On the contrary, these individuals usually overcompensate by developing a cheerful demeanor. They are quite willing to accept hardship and responsibilities, which in most cases, they feel they were born to endure. HOUSE 2 The second house describes material assets, how you handle monetary income, and the potential ways it may be earned. It also indicates the values and priorities you establish throughout life. TAURUS on 2nd HOUSE Taurus ruling the second house indicates individuals who may be addicted to the personal pleasures and material advantages that wealth can supply. To attain these things, they take full advantage of all the charm and physical attractiveness they possess. To them, it may seem an even trade. It also implies that beauty provides their income in such fields as modeling, hairdressing and related services, cosmetic manufacturers and salesmen, fashion and beauty consulting. Other possible sources of income include law, art, music, jewelry or the world of fashion and design. Though their second house Taurus influence suggests they place great value on wealth and beauty, it indicates they probably also value their relationships. Their sense of well-being and security is greatly enhanced when they are surrounded with beautiful things, attractive, peaceful environments, and people they like. Negative potentials for Taurus on the second house include individuals who are unable to derive personal enjoyment from anything or anyone. Their self-denial can lead to miserliness, selfishness, or a waste of resources. URANUS in 2nd HOUSE Uranus in the second house indicates those whose material assets are vulnerable to sudden change. This implies the improvement of monetary circumstances for those with little wealth, and the danger of loss for those with many assets. Their attitude toward spending can vary considerably from one time to the next. Unlikely to be dedicated to earning money for its own sake, they are more interested in the personal freedom that money can buy. Their income may be related to a fraternal organization, or earned through the help and influence of friends. Their livelihood may come from an unorthodox or unusual line of work, or through more mundane areas that involve computers, research and development, antiques, international finance, medicine, television, or social work. Other potentials for Uranus in the second house include those whose priorities and values are unorthodox or radical, and those whose established values and priorities are altered by an unexpected event or change in their life. Among the things these individuals value the most are freedom and friendship. URANUS trine NEPTUNE Uranus trine Neptune is a generational aspect that only applies to those born in the mid-1940's. It is a fortunate aspect for the arts, idealism, spirituality, and especially the advancement of minority classes. The emergence of this generation as adults in the 60's and 70's was indeed attended by such movements and activities as civil rights, antiwar demonstrations, women's lib, and gay rights. HOUSE 3 The third house describes your mental state, intellectual orientation, self-expression and communication, early education, mechanical dexterity and skills, immediate environment (neighborhood), and siblings. It indicates physical actions, and transportation, especially within your immediate environment. To a certain extent the third house also describes the job or health of your father. GEMINI on 3rd HOUSE Gemini ruling the third house indicates individuals who are concerned with communication, languages, or transportation. Responding to the Gemini influence many of them are writers, teachers, publishers, salespersons, or those heavily involved in community projects and associations, or who work in the transportation or travel business. Other mental occupations, such as design and engineering are also indicated as possibilities. There is apt to be a lot of visiting and communication with siblings. The negative possibilities include speech impediments, hearing loss, or learning disabilities. It also implies accident proneness, tendency to experience mechanical difficulties, or lack of facility with mechanical devices. They always know what's going on, especially in their immediate environments. In some individuals with nothing better to occupy their time, there is more involvement in idle gossip than in genuine community business. The influence of Gemini on the third house means they are likely to possess a high degree of instinctual understanding. Not ESP exactly but what may seem like ESP. HOUSE 4 The fourth house describes your residence, domestic environment, and family members, especially your mother. It indicates the beginning as well as the end of various cycles in your life. GEMINI on 4th HOUSE Gemini ruling the fourth house indicates those who may prefer to work at home or pursue many hobbies at home. They are apt to have extensive libraries or collections of magazines and other factual material. If they happen to be more mechanically inclined than intellectually oriented, home becomes a base for tinkering with all kinds of mechanical devices, the most popular of which are automobiles. Gemini's influence on the fourth house indicates the possibility that as adults they may live with siblings or in the same neighborhood as siblings. They allow their homes to be used for community meetings or other neighborhood projects. The negative possibilities imply the opposite influence, and these individuals have arguments or separation from siblings and estrangements or disagreements with neighbors. Gemini on the fourth house implies restless domestic natures. These individuals may have frequent changes of residence, constantly alter or redecorate their homes, or own more than one home at a time. HOUSE 5 The fifth house describes your creative talent and imaginative powers, capacity for enjoyment and the pursuit of pleasure, romance, children, and speculative ventures. CANCER on 5th HOUSE Cancer ruling the fifth house indicates strong emotional identification with animals and children. It implies sensitive, romantic individuals who may be quite fertile, either literally or figuratively or both. They may have a tendency to be lax disciplinarians when it comes to dealing with children or pets, but they more than make up for it with their affectionate concern and patience. There is nothing to suggest with certainty they will possess creative talent, but they are sure to have great fondness for the arts or entertainment industries. Unless other factors in their backgrounds interfere, they attract a multitude of friends and acquaintances. They may experience difficulty in gaining emotional maturity in some areas, and are apt to have appetites that are hard to control. There is danger that they will waste their talents if they do not develop a high level of self discipline. Though it doesn't mean they don't enjoy traveling or getting out of the house for social activities, for the most part, they are likely to derive their greatest enjoyment from doing things at home or with family members. PLUTO in 5th HOUSE The intensity of Pluto is often very obvious in its influence on ego and creativity when this planet is in the fifth house. It is a strong indication of those who seek outward manifestations of their creative urges. They may not want the spotlight to shine directly on themselves, but they do seek attention for their creative outputs. No matter how modest or nonaggressive they may seem in other matters, they are sure to have a healthy ego involvement (sometimes vainglorious pride) in what they produce. Those who lack creative ability may focus their energy and ego on procreation. If these individuals are emotionally insecure, there is danger they will produce children merely as extensions of themselves. They may attempt to emotionally manipulate offspring. The positive side of Pluto suggests that these individuals seek projects and activities that allow them to develop the full potential of their skills and talents. Romantic encounters are apt to be intense, and these individuals may have to avoid a tendency to dominate the relationship. They are romantically attracted to those who are intellectually superior or have positions of power and status. Learning to understand and exercise proper control with respect to children, creative talent, and the pursuit of pleasure is the karmic responsibility of those with a fifth house Pluto. By choice or circumstance there may be secrecy or wrongful manipulation connected with creative projects, romantic attachments, or speculative ventures. HOUSE 6 The sixth house describes your job, daily responsibilities (paid and unpaid), and those who work for or with you. It also represents your health, and physical fitness. LEO on 6th HOUSE Leo ruling the sixth house indicates individuals whose egos are expressed in their work. Whatever occupies them on a daily basis; their job or duties, people they work with, and those for whom they are responsible, whether family or employees or even pets, are matters of great (possibly overblown) concern to them. They take personal pride in routine affairs. If there is no opportunity to take obvious pride in this area they may either fail to make progress, or become guilty of overplaying or fantasizing what is in reality dull and routine. Many conduct themselves, no matter what they do, with such dedication, pride and preciseness in handling even the most routine business, that they inspire the open admiration of others who are less organized or motivated. They are apt to become the most competent and also the most flamboyant employees. They may work long and hard but they do have limits, and sooner or later will demand tangible recognition for their efforts. Health and fitness may be important issues. MARS in 6th HOUSE Mars in the sixth house indicates those who concentrate much energy and vitality in their work. It indicates mechanical skills, and many of these individuals are inventors, surgeons, tailors, machinists, engineers, builders, and inveterate tinkerers. Those with managerial skills are tireless administrators who know how to extract maximum efficiency from their staffs. There is potential for them to choose a line of work that involves an element of risk. The risk could be physical, economic, or, in the case of those who work with very ill or disturbed people, it could be emotional. Their work may involve manufacture or sale of knives, weapons, explosives, or fire-fighting equipment. Whatever their job, they are happiest in active environments that offer a wide variety of challenges and tasks. The influence of Mars also suggests enthusiasm for maintaining health and physical fitness. If other factors contribute to giving them a high level of energy, they have no trouble engaging in a variety of activities that keep them in shape. They must guard against high blood pressure, fever, headaches, and stress. MERCURY in 6th HOUSE Mercury in the sixth house indicates those who like to keep busy whether they work at an outside job or in their home. However, it doesn't mean they always accomplish meaningful things. They may become so preoccupied with unnecessary details or needless tasks, their work is never caught up. Unwilling or unable to properly delegate tasks to others, they may end up exhausted, overworked, and frustrated. They may have so many things going on that it is difficult for others to assist them. Mercury's influence implies those who prefer working in their own neighborhood or those who may work with or for a neighbor or sibling. These individuals are also likely to be writers, librarians, researchers, teachers, trainers, physical fitness experts, or work with computers or in communication. They may operate or work in employment agencies, or in social or health-related agencies and services. Whatever their job happens to be, they tend to generate a lot of paper work, reports, memos, and lists. MERCURY sextile VENUS Mercury sextile Venus indicates those apt to be mentally alert and highly sociable. Their sense of humor and intellectual curiosity afford the motivation to attain adequate education for whatever they set out to accomplish. Their pleasant, or at least engagingly interesting dispositions, enable them to attract many opportunities for making use of whatever communicative or technical skills they possess. MERCURY conjunct MARS Whatever the depth of their intellects, those with Mercury conjunct Mars are sure to be strong and active in promoting their thoughts. They very much want to put ideas into action, and have little patience if they have to deal too much with mere theory. They are often physically active as well as mentally alert, always running here and there on one errand or another. They are likely to possess above average mechanical or technical skills. MERCURY trine URANUS Mercury trine Uranus indicates those with intellectual curiosity and belief in the possibility of almost anything. They develop interest in unusual subjects as well as psychology, social sciences, technology, and medicine. They are apt to be very sociable and love to travel and meet people from many different places and backgrounds. There is little chance they will ever give in to intellectual prudery or snobbish attitude, either in themselves or in others. MERCURY conjunct NEPTUNE Mercury conjunct Neptune indicates those who may often fail to see the reality of situations even to the point of completely exhausting others who must deal with them on this basis. However, they also may have remarkable farsightedness and instinctual understanding of things that less sensitive intellects cannot grasp. They are likely to have great fondness for art, design, music, and nature. HOUSE 7 The seventh house relates to marriage and partnership or joint ventures of any kind. It describes how you interact with people and how others tend to regard you. The seventh house is associated with legal matters, negotiations, contracts, and all open confrontations, pleasant as well as adversarial. VIRGO on 7th HOUSE Virgo ruling the seventh house indicates those with concern and a critical (perhaps overcritical) attitude toward partnerships, contracts, public relations in general, and the law. They may end up in partnerships or alliances of one sort or another with siblings, or aunts and uncles on the mother's side of the family. They may have several partnerships at the same time concerning different enterprises. There is also the potential for more than one marriage. The tendency to be too critical or idealistic toward their marriage partners can put a strain on these relationships, or mean they never marry at all since no one will ever be perfect enough to suit them. They can be very talkative and go out of their way to have a conversation with practically everyone they meet, often giving advice as well as patiently listening to the problems of complete strangers. Many of these individuals have excellent memories for names, faces, and facts about other people. NEPTUNE in 7th HOUSE Neptune in the seventh house indicates those who may have a hard time being understood by their marriage or business partner, by those with whom they share joint ventures or cooperative efforts, and by other people in general. Whether or not they intentionally project such images, something about them may seem glamorous, illusive, or mysterious to others. They can unwittingly arouse feelings of fear or jealousy. However, they are also able to establish highly sensitive or spiritual relationships. Their true personality and their physical appearance are apt to be difficult for others to clearly recognize or accurately describe. On the other hand, these individuals may find it difficult to recall names or appearances of people they meet briefly, and even those they may have met several times. The negative potentials include the possibility of those who experience untimely loss of a partner, or those whose marriage partner is emotionally disturbed, disabled, from a minority group, or addicted to habit-forming substances. There is potential for deception or unrealistic expectations in partnership, though there is no certainty about which partner is at fault in this respect. Neptune's influence also suggests a marriage partner with highly developed intuition or psychic ability, or who possesses considerable artistic sensitivity or talent. Certain elements of illusion, confusion or mystery are likely to be associated with marriage or partnership. MOON in 7th HOUSE Moon in the seventh house indicates those who are apt to be the beneficiaries of assistance from others, whether or not they have asked for such assistance. They engender strong protective or nurturing instincts in others, and may achieve success solely through the help they receive. The moon's influence in the seventh house is indicative of the emotional nature of the marriage and marriage partner. A man with seventh house moon, for example, will usually select a wife who physically resembles or exhibits characteristics of his mother. He may marry a very young woman, or a woman willing to play the role of mother as well as wife to him. A woman with moon in the seventh house exhibits strong emotional identification with her husband. She is apt to be dominated in marriage, either by marrying a man with forceful nature, or by the authority or status her husband represents. Even if they divorce, there is the potential she will have difficulty finding psychological release from the failed marriage. MOON conjunct NEPTUNE Moon conjunct Neptune indicates those who can become victims of their own emotions. Their imaginations can be the source of remarkable creativity or the means of irrational fears that cripple their actions. They may be totally insecure but also capable of being oblivious to danger. Idealistic and intuitive, perhaps even psychic, they may also be foolish enough to let discouragement or self pity impede personal growth and progress. Much will depend on the strength and maturity they develop as individuals. MOON sextile PLUTO Moon sextile Pluto indicates those apt to have uncanny perception; the remarkable skill of being able to separate what is important and should be considered and analyzed, from what is not relevant and should be discarded. They are detailed, organized, and willing to put forth total concentration when their interest is aroused. Their objective assessment of exactly what an opportunity represents is not often derailed by too much sentimentality or personal desire. SUN in 7th HOUSE Sun in the seventh house suggests people-oriented individuals. This angular sun position indicates those whose ego is tied to partnerships, cooperative efforts, and how they relate to other people in general. Even those who are very independent are likely to find that their best achievements are made possible by or with a partner or partners. To suggest that these individuals are unable to succeed by working alone would be a fallacy and an excuse for idleness. The seventh house sun merely implies that they are likely to achieve success through opportunities others provide, but not because others have done their work for them. Their strong feeling that fairness and equality should exist at all levels of society is sometimes at odds with their actions or life style. SUN conjunct MOON These individuals are apt to risk all their money on one horse, so to speak; the result of impatience with the constant struggle of deciding whether to follow their hearts or their brains. The negative associations of this conjunction include repression and emotional isolation. The positive influence signifies well integrated personalities that successfully balance personal desires with consideration for others. They may be opinionated and willful at times but they are also dedicated and loyal. SUN conjunct NEPTUNE These individuals are not apt to be overly competitive or ambitious, and when they succeed, it is often a fortunate result of being in the right place at the right time. They are sensitive, intuitive and spiritual. They are also deceptively strong, and masters of disguise. Negative associations with this conjunction include those who are easy victims or victimizers and those prone to hysterics, self-delusion, and addiction. The positive indication are those interested and possibly gifted in art, theater, dance, medicine, counseling, or working with the underprivileged, handicapped or minorities. Water is their natural environment. SUN sextile PLUTO Sun sextile Pluto is usually an indication of individuals who are given opportunities to interact with those more powerful than themselves. These opportunities also represent the chance for these individuals to learn the value of control and power and what happens when such privileges are abused. Not everyone they meet will give tangible assistance in the way of money or obvious favors, but they often turn out to be important resources in helping these individuals get ahead in other ways. HOUSE 8 The eighth house is related to taxes, debt, death, legacies, and the income you receive through marriage or business partner(s). It describes your resourcefulness, and your ability to develop and use material assets as well as personal skills and abilities. The eighth house also indicates sexual attitudes and behavior. SCORPIO on 8th HOUSE Scorpio ruling the eighth house indicates individuals with the potential for possessing formidable strength and endurance. Unless there are severe afflictions in their individual personalities or backgrounds, their vitality is remarkably strong. Scorpio's influence indicates the presence of a dark side to their natures, one that may cause them to develop crushing cynicism and despair. It is entirely possible that they will overcome this by concentrating their energies more positively on such things as spiritual matters or investigating the mysteries of nature and the universe. There is implication of exceedingly strong sexual appetites which may play a major role in their lives, and here again, they may successfully sublimate the energy of sexual passion into other activities. But whatever their individual attitude or sexual practices might be, indifference to it is almost impossible. Scorpio ruling the eighth house indicates ability to develop powerful inner resources. Many of these individuals have first-rate talent for investigation and research. Whether by choice or circumstance there will be elements of secrecy or mystery connected with their sexual activities, personal resources, and research or investigative activities. VENUS in 8th HOUSE Venus in the eighth house indicates those who tend to be quiet but intense in social environments. They need highly motivated reasons to engage in superficial small talk for which they probably have limited ability and less patience. There may be an element of mystery or secrecy in sexual encounters. Though it may not be deliberate on their part, they give the appearance of being enigmatic or intriguing to others. The influence of Venus implies the potential for jealousy and possessiveness in sex and romance even when these individuals do not exhibit such traits with regard to other matters. It also indicates financial gain as well as increased social life and status through marriage. The positive side of this Venus house position also indicates remarkable ability to understand the psychology of human motivation and relationships. Negative factors in their personality or background can mean those who marry for the purpose of gain, loss of money or status through marriage, sexually transmitted disease, and neurotic social tendencies. VENUS opposite URANUS Those with Venus opposite Uranus can never be quite sure how they will be accepted by other people. On the other hand, their own handling of relationships may be just as unpredictable. Conventional society may become very boring and they seek the company of unusual people, or at least a wide variety of people. They may encounter or themselves engage in some unorthodox social situations. HOUSE 9 The ninth house describes higher education, advanced training, publishing, publicity, advertising, politics, foreign travel, foreign studies, religious and philosophical views and activities, and cultural pursuits. It relates to court decisions, a second marriage, and in-laws. To a certain extent the ninth house also describes the job or health of your mother. SAGITTARIUS on 9th HOUSE Sagittarius ruling the ninth house indicates individuals with intellectual curiosity, heightened spirituality, and great appreciation for higher education and knowledge in general. However, the influence of Sagittarius on the ninth house is no guarantee these individuals will be motivated to pursue activities in these areas. If there are negative factors in their personality or background it can mean mental laziness, lack of means to pursue higher education, or those who achieve it only with great difficulty. It can also mean those who are vulnerable to overblown or over zealous ideas and theories, and fanaticism. Even if circumstances never present an opportunity to travel or pursue higher education, they are still apt to be avid readers of newspapers and magazines, and informed concerning political and social issues. The Sagittarian influence implies a multitude of interests and involvement in such things as law, politics, foreign travel or trade, theater, art, dancing, sports, and games of chance or games with intellectual challenge. HOUSE 10 The tenth house describes your career and other long-range goals, public reputation, superiors and those in authority. It also relates to your father and his influence in your life. SAGITTARIUS on 10th HOUSE Sagittarius ruling the tenth house indicates the likelihood of those who consciously or subconsciously seek a public forum for exhibiting their intellectual skills, artistic talent, or specialized training. They are apt to feel strongly that what they know must be transmitted to others, which in turn makes many of them pursue careers as teachers, writers, lecturers, salespersons, actors, politicians or clerics. They may not necessarily seek the spotlight themselves but may work on projects that receive public recognition, or become promoters, agents, or fund raisers. Whatever they do, they want to work with the public in some capacity. They are also apt to gain publicity for something they have done or been associated with outside of their regular work or profession. The negative potential can mean difficulty with, or loss of the father. It also implies problems with superiors or in attaining promotions or other personal goals. These individuals may be put in situations for which they are not adequately prepared or for which they lack necessary skills. HOUSE 11 The eleventh house rules friendships, organizations to which you belong, and income derived from self-employment or career (as opposed to wages earned from a job). It relates to the role you play in the lives of others as child, parent, lover, spouse, friend, social or business associate. The eleventh house also describes your hopes and aspirations and capacity for happiness. CAPRICORN on 11th HOUSE Capricorn ruling the eleventh house indicates the likelihood of heavy responsibilities associated with friends. Capricorn does not imply lack of friends but they are apt to be few in number. These individuals will also tend to establish more friendships later in life, or with people older than themselves. There is also implication that friendships will be solid, enduring relationships. They may harbor the feeling that they are friendless no matter how many people regard them with great affection. Capricorn's influence can mean aversion to joining organizations. However, those who do join a group may be handed or voluntarily assume responsibilities within the organization. Income from self-employment or through a career (as opposed to a job) may either be considerably delayed or have some burden or responsibility attached to it. Their fathers are apt to have little wealth, and if he does, they have difficulty gaining access to it. Real happiness may be difficult to achieve. Either they feel guilty about being happy, or are truly discontent no matter what they achieve or how many material advantages they gain. HOUSE 12 The twelfth house describes the private and hidden side of life; your subconscious mind, dreams, the past, and those who wish you harm or work against your interests. The twelfth house relates to sorrow, disappointment, loss, solitude or confinement, hidden fears and worry. It also has connection with the job or health of your marriage or business partner. AQUARIUS on 12th HOUSE Aquarius ruling the twelfth house indicates those with unconscious resentment of authority or convention. Their sleep is likely to be erratic or constantly disrupted, or they tend to sleep at odd times rather than during conventional hours. A physical or psychological disorder may cause insomnia, their work may demand unusual hours, or the work or health of their marriage partners may alter their sleep schedule. Since they tend to be restless or erratic sleepers, it is better to be completely exhausted before they go to bed. The same notion is true concerning their ability to obtain or sustain inner calmness, making it difficult for them to gain relaxation needed for good mental and physical health. Some circumstance is apt to occur that forces them to learn to properly relax. Unexpected changes may occur in their partner's work. Their spouses may introduce them to unconventional ideas and practices regarding health and physical fitness. For one reason or another, they may be involved in secret societies or secret activities of a friend, or they may have to entrust their own secrets or secret activities to a friend. JUPITER in 12th HOUSE Jupiter in the twelfth house indicates those who possess remarkable inability to worry. They may never even get that far in their thinking. They simple forge ahead. In troubled or risky situations that make most people feel concerned, these individuals seem to have a vague sense that they will somehow be saved, even if the rescue occurs at the eleventh hour. For better or worse they are encouraged in such notions since they are in fact, often rescued. Sometimes by unexpected or unknown sources, and sometimes through a marriage partner or other relative. On the other hand, these individuals are generous to others who need their help. Jupiter represents expansive thinking and the twelfth house does not present a clear sense of reality so they may never quite be certain of their own limitations and what is possible and what is not. They can achieve astounding success simply because no one told them they couldn't. Many have highly developed intuitions and are interested in occult subjects, the subconscious mind, and dream interpretations. On a mundane level, Jupiter's influence implies fondness for gambling, theater, art, and dancing. The ocean or marine life may also have great attraction for them.
